Last week, in year 4 we had a visitor from Amnesty International. Lisa from the Primary School Speaker Team gave us lots information about what it means to be a refugee. We learnt about the journeys some children have been on to find a safe place to live. Following our talk we have started reading The Journey by Francesca Sanna a beautifully illustrated book about one family's search for safety. The book has been inspiring our writing this term.
Our class name this year is the House of Illustration so in October we went to visit. First, we looked at the pictures upstairs and did some drawing. We drew pictures using Quentin Blake's style. After that the class drew more pictures of how to be safe like Quentin Blake and Roald Dahl's train safety book. Finally, we used water colour to paint.
