Year 5

Staff Leavers' Assembly

Don't forget to look at the school newsletter to read interviews with some of the staff.

How to Submit Work Online

This week is Science Week and we've explored the theme of Our Diverse Planet. Year 5 learned about water scarcity, its causes and some of its effects. We then conducted a science experiment to answer the question: How do we clean dirty water? Have a look at what the children did to clean the jug of tea water!

Science Week: How do we clean dirty water?

We have been taking part in some of the special workshops at City University these past few weeks. It was a great opportunity for the children to learn about what university really is, to tour the campus and to meet the student ambassadors from different courses across the university.

Have a look at some of our City University trip photos!

We're learning about improper fractions and mixed numbers in Maths. Number lines can help us convert one into the other.

We're thrilled to start the Spring term in our brand new school building! We absolutely love our new learning space and are looking forward to the rest of the year.

Before the Christmas break, Year 5 had a great opportunity to visit the British Museum and see all the Greek artifacts! Have a look at our trip photos below.

Year 5 British Museum Trip

We've enjoyed our topic on Odysseus and his adventures this term. Thank you so much to all the parents who came to our assembly a few weeks ago.

We are working on improving our times tables recall up to 12 so please continue to practise these at home with your child.

Year 5 Dishoom Trip

We had a great time visiting Dishoom for the special Breakfast workshop. Children learned more about breakfasts around the world, enjoyed some delicious food from the resturant and even had a chance to make some naan bread.
